The Deputy Prime Minister, HE Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.<\/p>\n
The Cabinet commended the outcomes of the meeting that took place between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The Cabinet emphasised the importance of HM the King’s visit to Jordan in furthering economic cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n
The Cabinet underscored the importance of the official talks held between His Majesty the King and the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi, noting the outcomes of the visit in bolstering bilateral cooperation across the economic and security sectors, and to further joint coordination in facing current regional challenges.<\/p>\n
The Cabinet then reviewed achievements following His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s directives to assess flood-related damages to compensate those affected, identify areas adversely affected by the rainfall, and develop sustainable infrastructural and drainage solutions, in line with best practices. In this regard, the Cabinet reviewed the report submitted by the Minister of Interior, the Chairman of the Civil Defence Council, regarding the efforts of public ministries and entities in responding to the recent heavy rainfall.<\/p>\n
The Cabinet further followed up on the procedures taken by concerned authorities in managing the Bapco Refining oil tank leak, in accordance with safety and security standards. This follows the Cabinet review of a report submitted by the Minister of Oil and Environment. The Cabinet also reviewed the academic process across several private and public institutions following the temporary period of remote learning. In this regard, the Cabinet directed the Ministry of Education to ensure a smooth, remote learning process.<\/p>\n
The Cabinet discussed several memorandums during the meeting, approving the following:<\/p>\n
1.\u00a0 \u00a0 A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the implementation of the private clinic building project at Salmaniya Medical Complex.<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0 \u00a0 A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the government\u2019s response to three proposals and two laws submitted by the Council of Representatives and a law submitted by the Shura Council.<\/p>\n
The Cabinet then took note of the following ministerial reports:<\/p>\n
1.\u00a0 \u00a0 Outcomes of the Kingdom’s participation in the Second GCC-Central Asia Joint Ministerial Meeting on Strategic Dialogue.<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0 \u00a0 Outcomes of the official visit made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the State of Palestine.<\/p>\n
3.\u00a0 \u00a0 Outcomes of the Kingdom’s participation in the 2023 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.<\/p>\n
4.\u00a0 \u00a0 Outcomes of the Kingdom’s participation in the Our Ocean Conference.<\/p>\n
5.\u00a0 \u00a0 Outcomes of the Kingdom’s participation in the fourteenth session of the Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and related meetings.<\/p>\n
6.\u00a0 \u00a0 Outcomes of the Kingdom’s participation in the ECOSOC Youth Forum.<\/p>\n
