HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister receives the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sunni Endowments

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today received the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sunni Endowments, His Excellency Shaikh Dr Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futtais Al-Hajeri, at Riffa Palace.

 

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted the Kingdom’s development, particularly it’s houses of worship, during the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which reflects His Majesty’s belief in the vital role of mosques as a platform to consolidate the noble Islamic values of unity, peace and co-existence.

 

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad was then presented by HE Shaikh Dr Al-Hajeri a book named “Mosques of the Kingdom of Bahrain that were built during the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.” The publication showcases the mosques built under His Majesty’s era, their vital role and efforts to further develop these places of worship over the years.

 

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad expressed his gratitude for the book that was presented by HE Dr Shaikh Al-Hajeri, noting the efforts required to document, edit and prepare its contents.

 

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad highlighted the importance of continuing to implement the mosques’ development plan throughout the year with the highest standards of modern and Islamic designs, ensuring their readiness to accommodate worshippers across all governorates of the Kingdom.

 

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sunni Endowments expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet with His Royal Highness, noting the Kingdom’s achievements during the prosperous era of His Majesty the King.

 

It is worth noting that since 1999, the Kingdom of Bahrain has witnessed the opening of a mosque every 36 days, with the Kingdom becoming replete with houses of worship for all.

 

HE Dr Shaikh Al-Hajeri emphasised that more than half of the current mosques were built during the reign of His Majesty the King. In this regard, HE Dr Shaikh Al-Hajeri recognised His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s unwavering support to the places of worship, highlighting HRH’s recent directive to open, restore and develop 32 mosques belonging to the Sunni and Ja’fari Endowments across the Kingdom’s governorates.

 

HE Dr Shaikh Al-Hajeri concluded by wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further development, prosperity and safety, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

 

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa also attended the meeting.
