His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived in Cairo today, on a visit where he will hold talks with His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of Egypt.
The talks between the two leaders will focus on the close Bahraini-Egyptian ties and recent regional developments.
Upon his arrival, His Majesty the King was received by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. Also present were a number of senior officials, Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, Ambassador to Cairo, and members of the kingdom’s embassy.
An official reception ceremony was held for HM King Hamad at Al Ittihadiya Palace, where the national anthems of the two countries were played, and a 21-gun salute was fired in honour of His Majesty the King.
Following that, HM King Hamad was greeted by senior Egyptian officials, while President El Sisi was greeted by members of the Bahraini official delegation.
An Escort of Honour, led by Dr. Assem El Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities of Egypt, was formed.
