Bahrain hosts 19th session meeting of Arab Information Ministers’ Executive Bureau

Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, the Minister of Information, attended the meeting of the 19th session Executive Bureau of the Arab Information Ministers Council.

The council was chaired by Salman bin Yousif Al Dosari, the Minister of Media of Saudi Arabia, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Information Ministers Council.

Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, the Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector at the Arab League, was present.

In his remarks, Dr. Al Noaimi thanked the Arab Information Ministers for their efforts in advancing Arab media. He highlighted the media’s crucial role in supporting the Arab world’s development across various fields.

The minister conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the current President of the Bahrain Summit, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, and Prime Minister, to the participants in the meeting.

He also conveyed the wishes of HM the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for the success of the meeting in discussing and adopting resolutions that would contribute to consolidating Arab solidarity and integration during this critical juncture in the history of the Arab world.

The minister thanked Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ambassador Khattabi, and the Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information for their efforts and cooperation during the preparations to host the 54th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information, the 101st session of the Standing Committee on Arab Information, and the 19th session of the Executive Bureau on the territory of Bahrain.

The minister said the meeting aims to advance joint Arab media cooperation to address current challenges, noting that the topics on the agenda cover pressing matters, particularly the Palestinian cause and the situation in the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Al Noaimi said that the tragic situation in the Gaza Strip required Arab media to intensify efforts within a joint media plan to emphasise the steadfast Arab stance on this issue, which was underscored by the Bahrain Summit.

The minister stressed the need for a joint Arab media plan to strongly advocate the Arab position on Palestine, as reiterated by the Bahrain Summit, as this is central to regional security and stability. He added that the Palestinian cause was inseparable from the security and stability of the region.

The minister reiterated Bahrain’s continued support for joint Arab cooperation and its readiness to mobilising initiatives that further enhance joint Arab media action.

The meeting discussed supporting the Palestinian cause through media, promoting Arab media abroad, the Arab sustainable development plan, and the role of the media in countering terrorism.

At the end of the meeting, several recommendations were adopted to be submitted to the Council of Arab Ministers of Information meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday.
