His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, said that the outstanding achievement made by the Victorious team at the Royal Ascot Horse Racing Festival is the result of the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
HH Shaikh Nasser added that the victory is considered a gain to highlight the integrated framework of Bahraini equestrian sports, which is continuing to deliver further achievements.
The Royal Ascot event in the UK was attended by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).
The horse Isle of Jura ridden by Callum Shepherd won first place in the second half of 2,400 meters on grass, of the Hardwicke Stakes in the second category.
HH Shaikh Nasser said that the Royal Ascot Festival is one of the most prestigious races in the world, and Victorious’ two victories highlighted the advancement of Bahraini equestrian sports, noting that the victory was an incentive to continue to achieve future success in upcoming competitions.
