His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today met with the President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), HE Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, and the Director of Antiquities and Museums at BACA, Dr Salman Ahmad Al-Mahari, at Riffa Palace.
His Royal Highness emphasised the importance of continuing to strengthen BACA’s role in achieving the Kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister noted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s rich culture and heritage, which is evidenced by its artifacts and antiquities.
His Royal Highness commended the efforts of those responsible for the culture and antiquities sector in promoting the history of the Kingdom of Bahrain and preserving its cultural identity, wishing them further success in achieving the desired goals.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister underscored the importance of archaeological and historical sites as evidence of Bahrain’s heritage. His Royal Highness highlighted the role of these sites in supporting cultural tourism and the importance of expanding the sector for the benefit of the Kingdom.
For his part, HE Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness and commended HRH’s unwavering support for the culture and antiquities sector.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the Minister of Finance and National Economy, His Excellency Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, also attended the meeting.
