Bahraini Embassy to US holds annual iftar banquet

Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United States, has affirmed the kingdom’s commitment to promoting the values of religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence, thanks to the lofty vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

 

He indicated that “the Kingdom of Bahrain Declaration” establishes and calls for the dissemination of the values of coexistence, peace and religious freedom.

 

Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa made the statements during the annual iftar banquet held by the Bahraini Embassy to the US at the Middle East Institute, in the presence of several officials, ambassadors and invitees from civil society organisations of various religions and cultures.

 

Addressing the audience, the Ambassador highlighted the humanitarian efforts made the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) since its establishment in 2001, paying tribute to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, RHF’s Board of Trustees Chairman, for the major role His Highness is playing in supporting the RHF’s initiatives and plans in Bahrain and abroad, citing the Foundation’s delivery of all kinds of basic humanitarian assistance, including food and medical supplies, to disaster-stricken peoples all over the world.

 

In a related context, the ambassador stressed the importance of continuing humanitarian efforts and stopping the war in the Gaza Strip. He also called for reaching diplomatic solutions to regional conflicts and providing opportunities for security, development and prosperity for all peoples.

 

The event, organised by the Bahraini Embassy, provided an opportunity to shed light on the efforts made by several personalities in supporting humanitarian work, as well as promoting peaceful coexistence and tolerance among the followers of various religions.
